Megan is also an experienced bodyworker. She practices TuiNa, which is a therapeutic form of Chinese bodywork. TuiNa uses palpating, kneading, shaking, pressing and rolling along the channels and their acupuncture points, and also along the musculoskeletal system and its fascia. The focus is both structural and energetic. Tui means “push” and Na “pull”. She also incorporates abdominal massage into her treatments; the Chinese abdominal technique Chi Nei Tsang works with the organs to diagnose and treat the whole body. Chinese medicine views pain and sickness as energetic stagnation, and views health as energetic free flow. TuiNa and Chi Nei Tsang complement acupuncture in restoring the body’s healthy flow of Qi.
